Two people who were never supposed to meet
John is a student. A good guy, truly. He goes out to protest because he cares, because he wants justice, because he won't stand on the sidelines.
Elijah is a Haredi doctor who wandered into the wrong alley at the wrong moment. The mob doesn't make distinctions. One moment John is marching in the front row; the next he's "the Jew's friend." And he's the one who opens the door of his bar and pulls Elijah inside.
There, behind the closed door, the conversation begins. Not so that anyone wins. About one question that keeps coming back throughout history:
"I don't promise you'll agree with Elijah. I don't promise you'll agree with John either. I only ask that you stay in the room until the end." — B. Ingber
